Her next book, the memoir Tough Love, will be published in March 2027. Her work has been supported by fellowships from the Black Mountain Institute, the Ucross Foundation, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. As an arts writer, Tajja covers books, culture, and—perhaps most notoriously—the publishing industry. Her work for The Walrus, where she is a contributing writer, has twice been a finalist at the National Magazine Awards. She has edited for Orion, Catapult, The Walrus and Electric Literature, and is co-editor of the anthology The World As We Knew It (2022). A voice actor for over two decades, Tajja can be heard on such animated shows as Atomic Betty, The Berenstain Bears, Super Why!, Go Dog Go, Jane and the Dragon, and many others. Currently, she is pursuing her MFA at the Bennington College Writing Seminars and working on her third nonfiction book. She maintains an infrequent newsletter called Creative Practice and can be found on various social media platforms under the handle @tajja.isen.
