That same year, she co-edited the anthology The World As We Knew It. Her next book, the memoir Tough Love, will be published in March 2027 and is available to preorder. A widely published essayist and critic, Tajja covers books, culture, and—perhaps most notoriously—the publishing industry. Her work for The Walrus, where she is a contributing writer, has twice been a finalist at the National Magazine Awards. She has received fellowships from the Black Mountain Institute, the Ucross Foundation, and the Sewanee Writers’ Conference. A voice actor for over two decades, Tajja can also be heard on such animated shows as Atomic Betty, The Berenstain Bears, Super Why!, and dozens of others. Currently, she is working on her next book of nonfiction, pursuing her MFA at the Bennington Writing Seminars, editing for Orion, and teaching creative writing. She runs an infrequent newsletter called Creative Practice and can be found on various social platforms under @tajja.isen.
